Movie Review - "The Bucket List"

The Bucket List -
This is my first movie review on this blog. Hope it goes well and I can give away how good or bad a movie really is without actually ruining the story for every reader who reads this. All one of them.

The bucket list in my humble opinion gets a grade 2.5 stars. Thats right there in the middle of a 5 star grading system for you math majors out there. The movie itself had a good storyline, but it was just so drawn out and boring that it made me yearn for these two old bastards to hurry up and "kick the bucket". You like how I worked that in, and early to.

Basically Jack and Morgan are two old foggies who find out late in life that have cancer. They happen to meet by being put in the same room at the hospital and become fast friends. Now is it just me, but if I was put in a hospital room with some guy like Jack Nicholson who always looks like he just rolled out of bed after partying on ex all night, I might be a little skeptical to become fast friends with him. Just a little. But in this case Jack is a gazzilionaire hospital builder or something and has all the money in the world, so that would make it less terrifying.

They play gin all day and watch tv and go thru chemo and then Morgan, sensing his end is not as near as once figured, decides to write a list of things to do before he "kicks the bucket". Twice. Then he finds out the end is near and throws it away and Jack picks it up and thinks its awesome cause he has no friends and this would be fun to blow all his money on because he has no one to leave it to.

Morgans wife gets mad.

Jack and Morgan are flying all around the world doing all these things us poor folk could never do in a lifetime, really that just pissed me off, but hey its their bucket list.

Morgans wife is still mad.

Finally Jack gets some hooker to hit on morgan bc he has only banged his mad wife in his lifetime and he doesnt do it and wants to go home. Then Jack gets mad because Morgan has a heart and wants Jack and his daughter to make up. If you want to know that story watch the movie.

Morgans wife is not mad. Morgan is home.
Wife puts on a sexy outfit, kills morgan.
Jack realized Morgan was right, sings at his funeral.

I could have possibly made those last 3 lines up, but see the movie to find out.

All in all thats the story in a nutshell. You get old and you die. Most likely from cancer. Kind of depressing. Made me want to go watch cloverfield.

Nip/Tuck season 5

I for one have waited and waited and waited for the season 5 premiere of Nip/Tuck. I boarded myself up in my room last summer and watched seasons 1-3 as I prepared for season 4 with intense hope for the ever drama filled series. I waited patiently since the final episode of season 4, with a move to Hollywood the setting, with the same anticipation.

As I sit on my couch waiting for the cable version of cinemax porn to start, I had high expectations. Through the previous 4 seasons every story line, every character, every situation seemed to be carefully thought out, constructed with the scrutiny one would build a skyscraper with. Always on edge, yet tactifully done.

Season 5, episode 1 to me was a shell of its old self. It was like the show was making an entire season, based on itself, minus being based in Miami, but in Hollywood now. Sean and Christian are even extras in a show about plastic surgery, which has the love scenes and beautiful women right out of my dreams. Without the mandatory Christian butt shot, this show was Nip/Tuck, cast as Hearts and Scalpals, or something corny along that line. It was good actors acting bad, or at least I hope that was the ploy.

All in all the season debut was a complete and utter failure for me. Granted the season preview after the show has me hoping for the best. Seans wife finds someone new, Christian busts open his own business to the tabloids, Hollywood starlets and butt filled episodes await. This shows past has me wanting and waiting for more. But will I ever be satisfied?

"I want to be like you Uncle Frank..."

Some people really get into their roles. T.I., on of the hottest rappers out right now, was arrested recently on federal gun charges. Sources say that T.I. was caught trying to get one of his body guards to buy a machine gun for him. A frickin' machine gun!!!

First off, your T.I., you have an enterouge the size of Texas following you around everywhere you go. You are a convicted felon who knows he cannot own guns. Why are you willing to make a mike vick, and by mike vick I mean jeopardize you wealth, career, and family, for something so stupid as owning a machine gun.

Now the funny part about this is if T.I. would have just gave his bodyguard the money and told him to buy himself a machine gun, it seems it would have all been legal. But T.I. wanted the gun for himself. He must have some real beef going on somewhere in the world to be in need of a machine gun. Maybe he is just planning to invade Iraq. Either way, he gets my stupid award.

Oh, and watch out for
American Gangster
in theathers soon. Chronicling the life of Fred Lucas, which T.I. plays his nephew in.
I was just practicing for the role

Predictions for the Weekend NCAA games...

I've read alot of posts of others who like to try their hand at predicting games, and since I am a betting man, I figure I will throw my two cents in and see how I do...

No. 8 Kentucky (5-0) at No. 11 South Carolina (4-1)

I like Kentucky alot this year. They have played great in games versus Arkansas and a very overrated Louisville team. This offense is one of the most balanced in the nation and they have the best QB in college football right now. South Carolina really struggled against LSU, but that is the number 1 team in the nation now. I think there is just too much inconsistency on the gamecocks, and the ol' ball coach can't seem to make up his mind at qb, what is this, florida? If kentucky and its defense shows up this game is a blowout, but I like South Carolina to keep it close. 27-20 Kentucky

No. 10 Oklahoma (4-1) at No. 19 Texas (4-1)

What happened to these teams last week? Both teams come of upset loses, though I would have to say Oklahoma's was the least expected. Texas has had some close games this year versus inferior opponets, but OU was blowing people out by 50. For them to lose to a Colorado team who has looked anemic on O this year, is astounding. I believe OU brings the big guns to this red river shootout, and we all realize Texas was not deserving of their early preseason ranking. At least they have hot cheerleaders. 38-17 OU

No. 15 Virginia Tech (4-1) at No. 22 Clemson (4-1)

The battle of the underachievers. These two teams are two of the most talented, but two of the worst at living up to that talent. VT better be glad it has as talented a defense as it does or it would not have a chance in this game. Clemson has two stud rb's in Spiller and Davis, but does Bowden use these guys enough. I watched their first game vs FSU and they forgot they had a running game in the 2nd half. I haven't seen the freshman Taylor at QB for VT, but this is his first big game start. If it were at VT I would probably change my pick, but I think Bowden sticks with his two guns at RB and grinds out a W. 20-17 Clemson

No. 1 LSU (5-0) vs No. 9 Florida (4-1)

Biggest Game of the Year. A battle of two top ten SEC teams. It doesn't get any better then this. Florida is coming off an upset by Auburn. LSU didn't play its best game vs Tulane, but then again the JV could have won that game by two tds. Florida is young, and lost their leader on Defense to a burglary charge. I'm not sure if Joiner plays, but I don't think it would matter. LSU is to talented, to fast, and to big for the young gators. That Defense is going to stop Tebow in his tracks, and without a running game the gators have no shot. 35-20 LSU

No. 20 Cincinnati (5-0) at No. 21 Rutgers (3-1)

I have not seen Cincy play, but I know they are getting great leadership out of thier transfer qb. Rutgers lost to Maryland last week, who has a decent football team, but if you want to win the Big East you have to beat teams like Maryland. I love Ray Rice and his running ability and it seemed all year that the passing was complementing him, then the Defense decides to take a week off in thier L. I like for them to be fired up in New Jersey for this big game, and I think the D will be back. I think Rutgers is just to talented for Cincy. 21-17 RU

No. 12 Georgia (4-1) at Tennessee (2-2)
Big game for the Dawgs. They need this win versus a weak Tennessee team. Matt Stafford is starting to come into his own and the Dawgs defense has played considerably well as of late. This is going to be a must win game for Phil Fulmer, I think his leash is getting shorter and shorter. Georgia needs to focus on this game and not look ahead to its annual cocktail party, and I think they will. 31-14 UGA

Thats it for now. Lets see if I should have put money on all these games. Thats why I left the spread off, to much temptation for me. Enjoy this weekend filled with great college football, I know I will.

A cracked out trailer Momma, with a top 5 hit...

You have to got to love the american public. After two kids, numerous nights binging on alcohol and numerous drugs, and even after losing her kids to father of the year K- Fed, Britney Spears is back in our lives and hearts with the number 3 single in America "Gimme More". Its been a roller coaster of a ride for britney who went from this...

To the all to sexy this in just under 8 glorius years...

And just in case your wondering she lost out to number 1 Soulja boy - Crank Dat (Soulja Boy), to which I am still trying to learn the dance to so I can officially be gangsta when I write my name on my sunglasses, and number 2 George Bush hates black people aka Kanye West aka why is 50 cent still rapping - Stronger, he also has three hits in the top 50. Get 'em George.
